Let’s say you feel depleted and need to rebuild your Mommy Energy.
What can you do? Wait, what is Mommy Energy you ask?
Mommy Energy is what a Mom uses to take care of all of her responsibilities. When she just doesn’t have an ounce of energy left, she digs deep down to find her “Mommy Energy” and does what needs to get done.
So how do I rev up my M.E? Check out this week’s video and find out:
So here’s the scoop:
Am I hungry? Was the last thing I ate something healthy and sustainable? If not, I’ll give my body fuel that will perk me up like almonds or an apple.
Next I check my to-do list. Can I cut back or delegate tasks? If not, I need to take five minutes to build M.E..
If I’m driving home I’ll shut the radio off and be mindful of what’s going on around me. Focus on the headlights; notice the weather, or car shop. The goal is to not think of work or of home, just what is going on in that present moment. If my brain is too busy for this, I’ll blast the music and sing at the top of my lungs. No one will see me when we’re all going 65 miles per hour down the highway.
Let’s say I am working. I’ll get away from my desk and take a walk or find a quiet spot to sit and stretch for five minutes. Again I’ll be mindful of my surroundings and block out thoughts of work and home. I’ll think of my happy place and if I get can’t get there I’ll find one on Pinterest. Create a board that has peaceful images on it or follow mine at pinterest.com/lizzymccoach/peace-quiet.
What about you? What do you do to build up your Mommy Energy in the middle of the afternoon or on your way home from work?
